- VALUATION: The suggested US$ amounts are
estimated as the current values of Nick's reproductions based upon
our experience of selling these items over the past 16 years and
the current practices of contemporary galleries. We believe they
provide a fair guide for further trading. However, we can offer no
warranty, actual or implied by providing this information and the
market values may fluctuate due to a number of factors beyond our
control including supply and demand. Valuations are exclusive of framing and matting
unless otherwise stated.
- ARCHIVAL: All prints are
acid free and
giclees are produced using archival quality inks.
- ARTIST'S PROOFS are a small series of IMPRESSIONS taken from
the PRESS prior to the main PRINT run in order to satisfy the
artist that the work will meet his expectations regarding color
- "CANVAS" refers to a
strong cloth made from flax or hemp traditionally used as a
SUPPORT for paintings.
- "EDITION" refers to the
entire number of IMPRESSIONS of a particular
- An "OPEN EDITION" is one without restrictions. The artist is
free to produce as many impressions as he so wishes and may
reprint at any time.
- "LIMITED EDITION" refers to the practice of limiting the
number of impressions made of a particular print and creates a
rarity value for the benefit of collectors. The impressions are
signed by the artist and numbered. A number such as 50/300 would
indicate that the impression is number fifty of a total of three
hundred produced. This should not be confused with what are known
as SIGNED AND NUMBERED PRINTS.
- "IMPRESSIONS" is the
proper term used to refer to one of many copies of a particular
image, usually printed on a sheet of paper (often inaccurately
refered to as a PRINT).
- The term "PRINT" is correctly applied to the whole EDITION in
so much as an artist may be credited as making 10 PRINTS when he
has in fact made 500 IMPRESSIONS of 10 images.
- "DECOR EDITIONS" are open edition images printed to order in
LARGE sizes.... usually on canvas. Although these are archival and
artist signed, only artist proofs on canvas are HAND
EMBELLISHED.and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
