About apartments #9 & 10...
Apartments #09 and #10 are large Studios that are virtually identical. They are decorated in the same style, with the same amenities. 9309 & 9310 are one floor above ground level. With a balcony. We try to provide everything that you might reasonably expect, and then some. So read what is here to minimize what you cram into your luggage.
Bathroom, soap, towels, toilet paper...
ALL studio apartments at Hotel Mont Vernon have a shower, (no bath). We provide liquid soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and 3 rolls of toilet paper per week. If you want more you can purchase them at the supermarket a mile away. We also provide two hand towels, two bath towels, two wash cloths plus two beach towels each week. You can get towels more frequently if you arrange it in advance with Gloria at an extra laundry charge of $25.00 per change.
Beds, linens & laundry...
ALL apartments feature a KING SIZE bed. There is also a narrow sofa bed in apt #9310 suitable for one adult or for children and a folding sofa bed in 9309. Always tell us the number of adults and children so we can be sure we put you in the right apartment. We also have available an inflatable double bed. Again, if you need that you should notify us asap. The king bed is BIG and some couples sleep there with the kids.
A set of bedding is provided weekly and between guests. You can get changes more frequently if you arrange it in advance with Gloria at an extra laundry charge of $25.00 per change.
Crib...
There is also a small folding crib suitable for an infant with ONE set of bedding and a bumper. If you use the crib we recommend you bring your favorite bedding with you to be sure you have EXACTLY what you like. We don't provide any other baby equipment so you should bring with you everything you like to use.
Kitchenette, pots & pans...
The kitchenette comes with pots, pans, utensils, glasses, cutlery, a two burner stove top, refrigerator, toaster, microwave and coffee machine. There is also washing up liquid, dish cloths and a kitchen towel.
Lounge / TV area...
There is a seating area with a 20” flat screen TV, a DVD player, a radio / CD player and an assortment of tourist magazines about St Martin / St Maarten. The cable TV is controlled by French management of the complex. ALL apts have the same channels and, usually, only 4 or 5 are in English... one sport channel. Quality of reception and which channels are available varies. Consequently we provide 25 or more DVDs and recommend that you bring your favorites with you. There are dvd rental stores on the island.
Safe...
The apartments are equipped with a safe to secure your passports and valuables.
Electricity...
220v 60Hz. The sockets are French, round 3 pin. There is a small 110 transformer in the room which will take American plugs but this is intended for phone and razor chargers and you can not run anything big on that. YOU CAN NOT RUN A 110v HAIRDRIER or high voltage 110 appliances like curling wands and heated hair rollers over 500w will just blow the fuses so if you need these things BE SURE THAT THEY ARE 220 volts. We provide a 220 hair drier.
Phone...
There is no landline phone in the room as we have no way of monitoring the cost of outgoing calls. Many guests come with their cell phones. Some work. Just in case your's doesn't, we can provide a French side cell phone, (if you ask for it). You just pay 5 euros to put credit on the phone. ( If you need more credit go to the Gess gas station on the way to Marigot or anywhere that sells Digical pre paid cards.) That allows your family to contact you if necessary or you to contact us if necessary.
If you lose the phone you pay $150. If you don't take it out of the apartment, you don't lose it!.
Incoming calls are FREE. Outgoing calls are around 40 cents a minute worldwide. The number of the phone will be written on the back of the phone.
Water...
Water on the French side is generally considered safe to drink but some people are sensitive to any variation in the water they drink and pipes in any country can break and allow impurities in so we recommend you drink bottled water as a safeguard.
Internet...
There is a WiFi relay that provides wifi in the apartment. Look for “YodaGuy Echo” and ask us for the password. There is also an Internet cafe on site where you can scan and print documents.

Location...
Orient Bay, French St. Martin (St Maarten), Caribbean. One Minute Stroll to the Beach. Fine Restaurants 1 Mile.
Above ground level...
9309 & 9310 are one floor above ground level.
Balcony & dining...
In 9309 & 9310, patio doors lead to the balcony where a table and chairs can be used for dining if you wish.
The view...
The view from the balcony of 9309 & 9310 is of the path leading to the beach and other apartments. The view from 9322 is delightful, looking across the valley to mountain. Apartments with sea views at Hotel Mont Vernon will either be more expensive (an extra $150-$900 a week dependent upon owner and time of year) and/or finished to a lower standard. We do not have the ocean view and so specialize in providing higher quality for less money. All apartments are a very short walk to the beach. Our guests are usually happy to save the money, so that they can spend more while hanging out all day ON the beach.
BBQ...
You can't light BBQ on a condo balcony as smoke disturbs others and is a fire hazard. But there’s an old sailors trick that you can try on the beach. If you bring a flat metal grill with you, (takes no room in your suitcase, in fact it protects your other stuff), then you can scoop a hole in the sand on the beach, fill with charcoal, light and just put the grill over the hole. It creates a BBQ to cook on. Great by moonlight.
Maid service...
We thoroughly clean the apartments between guests. Most of our guests are economy minded, but for those who desire daily or biweekly maid service we can connect you with a maid. She charges 20 Euro an hour and we take no percentage of that money.
