January

Pre-Carnival events start in January on the first Sunday after the Epiphany and continues until Ash Wednesday in February. Every Sunday there is a local parade in a different neighborhood of the island.

Street entertainment, music and fun in Grand-Case Village every Tuesday night from January through April. The main street is turned into a pedestrian zone allowing people wander about the streets. All shops are open late into the evening.

Along the waterfront in Marigot local bands play and vendors set up selling produce from the region every Wednesday & Sunday Nights Mid-December - March. Enjoy local entertainment & taste traditional foods.

Usually the first weekend of March - Thursday to Sunday. Hundreds of yachts, from world class yachtsmen to enthusiastic amateurs compete through the day and party through the night.

Artists from around the island showcase their art on a designated weekend in March.

April
Easter Weekend
Hundreds of families go camping especially at Le Galion beach and Pinel Island to enjoy music, games and food.

The Dutch celebrate Carnival in April with almost two weeks of parades and parties. Carnival Village is open in Philipsburg and non-stop shows and parties are going on.


May
Fish Day in Cul De Sac - The Arts & Cultural Services at Townhall- Phone 0590 51 19 05
On May 1st the ferry jetty in the Cul De Sac is the center of activity where visitors can taste the various fish the island of St Martin has to offer. Lots of fun, day and night.
Carib Beer Regatta at Captain Oliver's - Captian Oliver's Marina- Phone 0590 87 33 47
One weekend yachts & multi-hulls race around the island from and to Captain Oliver's Marina in Oyster Pond. Sport, parties & entertainment.
St Maarten Golf Tournament
Every year in May the St Maarten Golf Association invites visitors and locals to participate in a fund-raiser to benefit humanitarian causes at Mullet Bay .

June
Deep Sea Fishing Tournament - The Inernational Fishing Federation
The Billfish Tournament is held every year in June and is one of the most important fishing tournaments in the Caribbean. Record weigh-in is 781 pounds!

Held on the Marigot waterfront on June 20th & 21st,  local & international bands provide ongoing concerts.
Soualiga Unity Cup - The FC Marigot Association- Phone 0690 39 76 02
Football teams from around the Caribbean compete in a warm & friendly tournament.

July
French National Holiday
July 14th is a day of sports & entertainment in Marigot that includes a sailboat race to Anguilla..

Taste traditional Caribbean food to the sounds of West Indian music.
Grand-Case Village Festival
July 21st a religios ceremony celebrates Victor Schoelcher, the man who abolished slavery and is followed by boat races, food and music.
St Martin/St Maarten Summerfest
For two Weeks in July, local and visiting musicians play gospel, jazz, reggae and more! 

August
Cinema in August - The Arts & Cultural Services at Townhall- Phone 0590 51 19 05
Every weekend in August an open-air cinema festival travels around the island to different villages. Movies for all ages. Admission free.

September
Seasonal Opening of "The Artist's Corner" - The Arts & Cultural Services at Townhall- Phone 0590 51 19 05
Hotel de Ville in Marigot showcases local artists' work.


November

November 11th celebrates Christopher Columbus' discovery of St Martin ton November 11th, 1493. Official ceremonies and entertainment takes place on both sides of the island with food, music and local culture.
Beaujolais Nouveau
Traditionally on the Third Thursday in November, many places host wine-tasting parties with a French theme.

The regatta takes place on 4 days in November when yachts race between St Martin, St Bart's and Anguilla.

December

One Week in December a beauty pageant is held with participants from the Caribbean and South America. Special guests, fashion parades and shows.
Christmas Decoration Contest - St Martin Office of Tourism- Phone 0590 87 57 21
Throughout December the office of Tourism holds a contest to pick the most beautifully decorated place. St Martin is illuminated by thousands of lights on private houses, yachts and businesses all around the island.
Santa Claus' House - The Good Friends Association- Phone 0590 29 05 54; 
December 1st through January 15th a private home at Cripple Gate  opens to the public to share with visitors Christmas foods and entertainment.
