Star Wars Prequel Insights
A department of.......

Found someone you have.............................................................................................................What's New?....

Although I established CineSecrets to provide a rare insight into the background and technical details of STAR WARS (IV & V), HIGHLANDER, SUPERMAN, KRULL, THE KEEP, LIFEFORCE and many other movies that I contributed to, I am just as interested in the STAR WARS PREQUELTRILOGY as any other Star Wars fan.

I remember when I was working on THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK and we heard that we were involved in making the middle three of a trilogy of trilogies.... 9 movies made over a 50 year span with the last three possibly involving Harrison, Mark and Carrie playing Han, Luke and Leia two generations on, (officially denied these days), it seemed like such a momentus project that we could hardly imagine that George could pull it off. But we hadn't imagined he would make $400M from merchandising episode IV either. The crew of EMPIRE had great respect for George. Many of us had grown with him from A NEW HOPE and would have happily followed him to the end of the rainbow. In many ways we did. Recent statements made by Lucas refute that he will make the last 3, possibly because he now predicts that he won't need live actors in another 20 years. He has changed his opinion so many times already that once more won't be a surprise..... in 1978 he said he would never direct another movie.

The pages that were here are pretty well out of date now. They were compiled prior to the release of Phantom Menace and so need a major overhaul to make them current. The most relevant can be accessed via this link.

Although the information may be available through other sites I hope that my comments and recollections regarding many of the personalities involved will make these pages both entertaining and unique. I would especially recomend pages like The New Yoda, The New Yoda Mechanism, CrewProfiles of George Lucas plus friends and associates such as Nick Gillard, Nick Dudman and others. These contain insights that you will not find anywhere else.

For a long time I assumed that my visiters were accessing these pages from the main CineSecrets site but my stats show that many of you are now coming here direct from the Search Engines. Don't miss out on our unique files on the original trilogy. The information there is very accurate and rare and the BBC named CineSecrets "Best of the Web - Special Effects" in association with their HORIZON TV program. We also have files on many other movies such as HIGHLANDER and SUPERMAN so you might like to check out the main site.

We have introduced a fun new way to navigate the site. Hidden on most pages is a secret link to the CineSecret Trivia Files containing hundreds of quotes and questions derived from the CineSecret Archives. Many questions relate to Episode I trivia although others relate to other movies that I was associated with. The link is a pair of eyes that only blink ocasionally like this ---->....<--- (if you don't see anything... wait for the eyes to blink!) Click on the eyes to get a question chosen at random. You can test your knowledge and link to associated files at the same time! Watch out for the hidden link as you browse our pages............... If you experience problems use Netscape.

If you enjoy the site let us know, (..... and your friends of course). Be sure to check our guidelines if you want to use any of our files elsewhere.

Have fun.......Nick .
