ORIENT BEACH
French St. Martin.

Orient Bay aka Orient Beach aka Baie Orientale is a truly majestic setting with the mountains rising up all around and the islands of Green Key, Tintamarre and Pinel just off shore. The bay sweeps around an East facing blue water cove that is 2 miles long. A white powdered sand beach is protected from the Atlantic waves by a reef, and the sea bottom has a very gradual slope. The area has been recognized as a marine reserve, and I'm told that the snorkeling in the marine park is very good.

The center of the beach is very developed. It is the most popular and the busiest beach on the island. Lined with tiki huts, colorful beach chairs and restaurants. There is a lot of action with many watersports facilities including parasailing, waterskiing and boat hire. Here you will also find shops and restaurants, some with live bands on busy nights. You can stroll in the surf and view sun-worshippers in all shapes and sizes passing by. Strains of Salsa, Bachata, or Merengue music waft over you from the bars that dot the beach.

The Bay is said to be made up of five beaches... Kontiki, Kakao, Bikini Beach, Waikiki and Coco Beach. But these names are used to define parts of one glorious sandy strip by referring to the nearest beach bar. In fact, Orient Bay boasts numerous restaurants, bars, shops and hotels along the beach.

REVIEWS OF ORIENT BEACH from tripadviser.com

At the farthest (Southern) end of the beach is Club Orient, the island´s only naturist resort. Clothing is optional in front of the Orient Club. In fact. nudity is considered permissible throughout the beach but not common at our end (a mile from Club Orient) except for early morning walkers around 8.00 am.

We are at the QUIET NORTHERN END OF THE BEACH. We have a fabulous pool beside the sea and Boo Boo Jam beach bar is about 200 meters away. There is a pizzeria, launderette and grocery on site and Grand Case, heralded as "the gastronomic capital of the Caribbean" is about a mile away by road.

*NOTE: THIS SITE IS IN NO WAY CONNECTED TO LUCASFILM OR GEORGE LUCAS who owns all rights to Yoda and the other creatures from Star Wars. In fact the use of the string "yoda" in our domain name and the presentation of images from the saga are courtesy of their generosity in allowing us to do so. Our use of the name YodaGuy and registration of the domain YodaGuy.com is NOT intended to imply that Nick was the only "guy" who worked to produce Yoda. There were several people involved in making four versions of Yoda for ESB and more again for versions in ROTJ and PTM. Credit is given to most of them in the making Yoda pages of our movie archive CineSecrets.com. Please read those for further clarification. Our use of the name implies ONLY that Nick Maley is a guy who was involved. Yoda and all creatures for the classic Star Wars trilogy were masterminded by Stuart Freeborn who Nick worked with on and off over a 7 year period. The initial drawing was by Ralph McQuarrie. Other people involved in building Yoda for ESB include Wendy Midner, Graham Freeborn, Ron Hone, Bob Keen and Nick Dudman (who built the new Yoda for PTM).
