ALL stats are AVERAGES and may fluctuate from year to year. Obviously there are times when weather systems pass that daily averages are disrupted.

Rain Days listed above are days when SOME rain falls. Days of constant rain are VERY rare. Conditions can be overcast for 2 - 4 days as weather systems pass during hurricane season BUT YOU WILL STILL TAN as UV is strong here.

Tourists OFTEN write asking if it will rain on a specific week or how long it might rain for. THERE IS NO WAY TO TELL but it is rarely overcast for long periods and rain USUALLY only falls for 5-15 minutes at a time.

Wind speeds and wave heights are for OPEN sea and are reduced in the lee of any island or where off shore coral breaks the waves. Storms, especially tropical storms and hurricanes, can bring much faster winds and higher waves. Wind speed is increased by localized rain and cloud activity. To convert knots to miles multiply by 1.15.

Hurricanes and rainy season. The following applies to ALL CARIBBEAN ISLANDS. Hurricane Season is from June first to Nov 30th OFFICIALLY but hurricanes have been known in December. Statistically Aug. Sept. and Oct are when 90% of hurricanes occur but MOST are in September. There is NO MONSOON OR ANNUAL PERIOD WHEN RAIN ALWAYS FALLS but an extra inch or two may fall in hurricane season.
